The study looked at the quality assessment of environmental impact assessment systems in 65 countries participating in China’s Belt and Roads Initiative. Mongolia ranks 51st overall in terms of points and 12th out of 13 countries in the East and Southeast Asia region. But if we classify it by 5 specific indicators:
- Legal environment – 27th place
- Administration – 64th place
- Procedures and Implementation of Environmental Impact Assessment – 60th place
- Decision making – 40th place
- Support for Environmental Impact Assessment – 41st.
