Tashgain am of Strictly Protected Area of Bogdkhan Mountain, 10th khoroo, Khan-Uul district, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
Star Tour Bureau LLC is proposing to develop and implement tourist complex project that covers 4.1 hectare of area in Tashgai Am of strictly protected area of Bogdkhan mountain in order to contribute to make available healthy and energetic lifestyle by offering the residents, who live among urbanization, air pollution and noise, vacation and travel through scenic natural spots where there is fresh air and no noise.
Greentrends has signed to undertake EIA of the project in March, 2015. Under this agreement, we have undertaken following tasks:
- Environmental and socio-economic baseline assessment
Baseline conditions of surrounding environment and socioeconomic aspects of the area of influence of the project have been determined and EBA has been conducted in the initial phase in order to plan the project with least impact on human health and environment. The baseline assessment has related following subject areas:
- Topography and geography
- Geology
- Climate
- Air quality
- Surface and groundwater availability and quality
- Soils
- Vegetation and fauna
- Socio-economic aspects of communities within the project area
- Cultural heritage
- All relevant documents required for the screening have been collected and conclusion of GEIA has been obtained from the MEGDT.
Greentrends has identified all potential and major impacts from the project development and has developed EMP which integrates the possible and major environmental impacts of project activities, measures to avoid, prevent from and mitigate them, keep adverse impacts as low as possible, along with required funding, followed by applicable procedures and standards.
